"Ancient Mariner" by Sophia Alessandra Moreno, Age 16, Philippines
One could say the sea is a reflection of the land, and so what we do on land could also affect the sea. This is the truth as years of advancement and progress were also at the cost of the environment. However, efforts have been made to protect and right what's wrong; regulations are implemented, innovations are created, more so education is disseminated at what cost? Nothing, but our time and attention. Just like the ancient mariners who have remained since long ago; their carapace as tough as should our resolve to find solutions; endangered as well yet still strives to survive for when their hatchlings could one day reach clear waters — but it is us humans who have the means to take action, and so it is up to us starting from the land we inhabit.
