After teaching Environmental Science in secondary schools for five years Hoifua Aholahi joined the Ministry of Environment in 2003. He has been involved in a number of environmental surveys ranging from monitoring to coastal resources surveys especially on mangroves on different locations in Tonga, most of the time working with island communities.
