Bio
Joyce received her Masters of Photography Degree in 1990 and Certified Professional Photographer in 1995. Although the bulk of her photography began on land, she began diving in 1990 and by 1994 was actively photographing underwater. Joyce joined Reef Environmental Education Foundation in 1993 and became a member of their Advanced Assessment Team. Her experience with fish surveys with REEF lead her to Perigee Environmental. With that organization, she has worked for three years on a Coral Reef Monitoring Program with Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center. Her quest to find and photograph unusual species of fish has resulted in her photographs being published in books and databases.
