Bio
Leno graduated from St. Augustine's College in 1998, and has since taken part in scientific research around the Bahamas, including The Kirtland's Warbler Research and Training program in Andros and Eleuthera, The Bahamas Parrot Project in Abaco, and lionfish, reef fish and coral surveys in waters around New Providence Paradise Island and Rose Island. Ancilleno has also worked in the US with the United States Geological survey, fish and wildlife service and Forest Service. He received his Bachelor's of Science degree in Environmental Science and his Master's Degree in Marine Estuarine and Environmental Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. After returning home, Leno worked for a year with Atlantis' Dolphin Cay marine mammal exhibit as a Scuba Diver and Dolphin trainer. He is now a Conservation Coordinator at The Nature Conservancy and his portfolio includes: coordinating the Kerzner Marine Foundation's Blue project, and the Bahamas Million Tree Campaign; representing TNC on the Bahamas National Biodiversity subcommittee and the National Coastal Awareness Committee; and participating in various task teams such as the National oil spill response committee and the GEF Full-sized Project Steering committee. He is a Rescue Diver with a wide variety of marine and terrestrial survey experience; and is fluent in Spanish and practicing American Sign Language.
