Laetitia Hédouin graduated from her PhD in marine oceanology in 2006 at the University of La Rochelle. Her research during her PhD was focused on the identification and characterization of tropical species as bioindicator of metal contamination in the lagoon of New Caledonia. After her PhD, she joined the laboratory of Dr RD Gates in Hawaii to extend my work on the effects of land-based pollution on Scleractinian corals and especially on early life stages (gametes and larvae). In 2010, she joined the EPHE-CNRS CRIOBE laboratory supervised by Dr S Planes to work on the effects of local and global stressors on corals (from gametes to adults). Since 2010, her work was mainly focused in French Polynesia, trying to understand how local stressors affect coral health and especially coral reproduction. More recently she got involved in coral diversity assessment of Moorea island, this work just started but she is pursuing this project in collaboration with the coral team of the criobe.
