Bahamas@Sunrise on board the Golden Shadow in Nassau, Bahamas to kick off the Global Reef Expedition
On April 8, 2011, a Bahamas@Sunrise Special Edition Aboard the Golden Shadow was held in Nassau, Bahamas to kick off the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation’s Global Reef Expedition. This six-year endeavor conducted 3 legs of coral reef research in the Bahamas in 2011.
The Foundation’s Executive Director, CAPT Phil Renaud, and Chief Scientist, Dr. Andy Bruckner, were joined by CAPT Steve Breen (M/Y Golden Shadow), Eric Carey, Tamica Rahming, Lindy Knowles (all from Bahamas National Trust) and Leno Davis (The Nature Conservancy, Bahamas). This group of marine scientists explained coral reef resilience and how the Bahamas will benefit from this research and collaboration through the Foundation’s overarching theme of Science Without Borders.
