Natural spaces can provide powerful educational experiences because they provide tangible links to scientific concepts that can often seem abstract or immaterial. Through the Global Reef Expedition (GRE), the Living Oceans Foundation has the ability to provide real-time access to coral reefs creating a unique opportunity to increase understanding of marine issues—especially those facing coral reefs. Through Lessons from the Reef, an increased engagement in marine issues will further advance the conservation and restoration of living oceans–the core of the Foundation’s mission.
